Mind over Body – Train Smarter Not Longer – 6pm, Wed 12th September 2012
There is a new way to exercise if you can never find time for that trip to the gym; high intensity exercise, which is time effective and physically demanding.
Dr Ross Lorimer give a short talk on the mental aspects of engaging in short bursts of high intensity exercise. Building on last year’s popular talk by Dr John Babraj, Ross discussed the mental challenges of engaging in this type of exercise programme and the psychological gains that can be made.
Short bursts of intense activity may have similar mental benefits to longer duration exercise and can potentially improve an individual’s mood and confidence as well as reducing their level of stress.
