Postponed: Sharing Stories of Mental Health – Monday 18 May 2020, 7pm
Due to unforeseen circumstances, we are postponing this Café Science Dundee event. Many apologies for the inconvenience this may cause. We shall be in touch in due course.
Historical records from Dundee and Angus mental asylums are being used to support people with experience of mental health challenges. This work supports local people to explore the experiences of their predecessors. It makes full use of the large collection held by the University of Dundee’s archives, helping local people place the experiences of those whose stories they discover.
In the second part of this project, participants told their own stories, allowing future generations to learn from their experiences.
Come and listen to the University of Dundee’s Caroline Brown (archivist) and Jacqueline Eccles (mental health nurse lecturer) who ran a project bringing service users and asylum records together.
Join us at Café Science Dundee at Medina Bar & Grill at 113 Nethergate on Monday 18th May 2020, at 7pm. This is a free event and everyone is welcome. There is no need to book in advance but arrive early to avoid disappointment.
