How do our cells hold their breath? – 7pm, 23rd February 2009
Have you ever wondered why our bodies need so much oxygen? What do they use it for?
On 23rd February 2009 Borders Bookstore hosted this unique chance to find out how scientists at the University of Dundee are answering this exciting question!
Sonia Rocha’s discussion focussed on why oxygen is so important for our survival. Sonia talked about how oxygen is used in your cells. This has implications for important human diseases such as cancer, stroke, heart failure and even arthritis.
The audience had many questions for Sonia with the conversations about science continuing in to the night.
